In order for documents signed abroad to be recognised in Northern Cyprus, they must be certified by a TRNC Representative’s Office (see below) OR the Turkish Embassy in the country where the signee resides.

Certification by Turkish Embassies

Due to new rules implemented by the Turkish Embassy in Northern Cyprus regarding documents certified by a Turkish Embassy, such documents need to be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ankara before the document is sent to the TRNC.  In this respect, the signee will need to engage a lawyer in Turkey to certify the document by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ankara.

Upon arrival to the TRNC documents signed at a Turkish Embassy and then certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ankara, such documents must then be certified in the TRNC in the following order:

  1. Turkish Embassy in Northern Cyprus;
  2. TRNC Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
  3. TRNC Ministry of Interior;
