What is Muhtar’s Certificate in Northern Cyprus?
Once you decide to apply for a residence permit in Northern Cyprus or you would simply like to open a bank account here, you will need to obtain a Muhtar’s Certificate from the municipality/belediye or the office of the muhtar of the area in which you reside.
The documents required:
– Passport/ ID card
– If you are renting an accommodation, you will need to provide a Rental Agreement; or if you own an immovable property, you will have show your contract of sale or title deed. (The rental agreement or the contract of sale must be registered in the Tax Office.)
The Muhtar’s Certificate can be issued to the person applying.
The fee is 10 TL per certificate.
